Who is Stop-Them?

We are a growing community of Pennsylvania contractors, installers and businesspeople based in Centre County, and expanding in ever-widening circles across the state to provide a cooperative resource of legal information, education and opinion from which we may all learn, profit, protect our businesses, fight for our rights and save a lot of money in legal costs.

We are united by our opposition to the regulation of the home improvement contracting industry, and any individuals, trade or government entities who perpetuate these new laws in order to generate revenue, and eliminate competition from smaller operators for their own profit.

Stop-Them was founded by a small group of established Centre County businesspeople in response to the poverty of affordable educational resources available to contractors about the Home Improvement Consumer Protection, and its requirements. This site and this organization were also founded to promote our efforts to amend the existing HICPA law, and stop new legislation already in the works, while providing contractors with a suitable media outlet for protest available nowhere else.

Stop-Them.Org is in no way associated with any governmental institution. This organization has been made possible through substantial contributions from the Mannino family of State College , and VillageCraft Iron & Stone. We also do not profit in any way from your membership, beyond covering the mounting costs of maintaining our website, services, free seminars and lobbying activities. All directors of Stop-Them are on a purely volunteer basis. We are a community of business people trying to prepare our businesses for HICPA, and trying to share what we're learning along the way while putting up a good fight!

We believe in total transparency, and are very proud of our origins, and the direction this organization is taking with support from friends like you.

Do not let the people who brought you this law monopolize the information on it and sell it back to you for more than you can afford!
